Theatre Education

Kelly has taught and directed in Shakespeare & Company's nationally recognized education programs for ten years, empowering actors from ages seven to twenty to embody Shakespeare's language with ferocity and joy.

As a graduate student at Boston University, she was an Instructor of Speech Communication, and a Teaching Assistant for courses including Dramatic Literature, Directing, and Acting. She also served on the faculty of the Boston University Summer Training Institute, a pre-conservatory program for high school students, where she taught Acting and Devised Theater Ensemble.

COACHING

Kelly is available to coach for college auditions, general auditions (monologues or sides), callbacks, scene work, or developing/honing your skills. Rates are on a sliding scale ($20-$50 per hour), depending on what’s reasonable for the individual artist. All artists will receive the same attention and standard of coaching regardless of price point. Sessions can be held in person in Boston or the Berkshires or via FaceTime, Zoom, or Skype.

Kelly has coached actors of every level of experience, in a variety of genres. She has a special interest in and knowledge of classical texts, with more than a decade of experience teaching, directing, and performing Shakespeare. She is particularly passionate about helping actors find textual clarity, personal connection, and their physical relationship to language.
